OGDC Chooses Sercel Nodal Technology for 12,000-Node Wireless Seismic Acquisition Project in Pakistan
Nantes, France | May 21, 2026
Sercel today announced the sale and delivery of 12,000 nodes of its WiNG wireless nodal system to OGDC, Pakistan's largest national oil & gas company. This new contract to equip a 3D seismic survey in the south of Pakistan marks OGDC’s first adoption of land nodal seismic acquisition technology.
The WiNG system delivers exceptional signal quality with its ultra-sensitive broadband QuietSeis® MEMS sensor technology. This advanced configuration enables the acquisition of high-fidelity seismic data, meeting the increasingly demanding requirements of modern seismic exploration surveys.
The announced contract also includes the provision of 2,600 additional WiNG AFU analog nodes, further strengthening OGDC’s nodal capability and enabling the company to deploy nodes on buoys in hard to access areas such as marshes and lakes. As a result, the WiNG solution provides a comprehensive, versatile package that can be used seamlessly across all types of environments, ensuring continuous, uninterrupted data acquisition across the entire survey area.
Dr. Khalid Amin Khan, Head of Exploration, Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC), said: “OGDC’s collaboration with Sercel marks a strategic step toward accelerating our exploration ambitions through the adoption of world-class technology. By deploying cutting-edge nodal seismic solutions, we are strengthening our ability to operate efficiently across challenging terrains while ensuring superior data quality.”
Ahmed Hayat Lak, Managing Director/CEO, Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC), added: “This partnership reflects our commitment to operational excellence, technological advancement, and unlocking Pakistan’s hydrocarbon potential with greater precision and speed.”
Jérôme Denigot, CEO, Sercel, said: “We are proud to partner with OGDC on this major project onshore Pakistan and support their first deployment of nodal technology for their seismic operations. WiNG stands apart as the most flexible and robust nodal system available, enabling acquisition of reliable, high quality data across all survey conditions while helping our clients to de risk exploration and optimize the value of their seismic investments.”
