Offshore Cameroon Seismic and Wells Data Package

Integrated data for regional insight

The Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SNH), on behalf of the Government of Cameroon, launched the 2025 Licensing Round to attract offshore exploration investment. Five of the nine blocks offered were awarded, with exploration activity spanning the Douala/Kribi‑Campo (DKC) and Rio del Rey (RDR) basins. Together, the awarded and remaining blocks cover approximately 20,000 km² of prospective offshore acreage.

Cameroon presents near-term, high-impact exploration potential, underpinned by ongoing production in both basins and supported by established infrastructure and commercial reserves.

Extensive onshore and offshore discoveries confirm a mature hydrocarbon system, with proven traps spanning the Lower Cretaceous to Upper Tertiary. These include tilted fault blocks, turbidite channels, and deepwater fans.

Recent petrophysical and geophysical analysis in the DKC basin has revealed overlooked prospects and new play concepts, highlighting significant untapped potential and reinforcing the basin’s growing appeal for exploration.
