At the centre of this momentum lies the upcoming Licensing Round, opening access to one of the region’s most compelling frontiers, the deepwater Kwanza Basin.

This basin is no stranger to promise. Its pre-salt play has already demonstrated world-class potential, with discoveries such as Cameia and Golfinho confirming a robust petroleum system. Rich source rocks, high-quality carbonate reservoirs, and strong salt seals combine to make Kwanza an ideal target for operators seeking the next wave of success.

Working alongside ANPG (AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE PETRÓLEO, GÁS E BIOCOMBUSTÍVEIS), Viridien brings decades of subsurface expertise to Angola’s evolving energy landscape. Our regional 3D PSDM seismic dataset spans more than 7,200 km², delivering exploration-ready insights across both pre-salt and post-salt plays.

We’re advancing this effort even further. In Block 22, Viridien is reimaging 4,300 km² of 3D seismic data using state-of-the-art workflows designed to overcome the unique challenges of subsalt imaging. By enhancing broadband signal quality and building high-resolution velocity models, we reveal clearer, more accurate images of complex salt structures and subsalt features, giving operators the confidence to identify new prospects and move forward with certainty.
